June 15, 2010 — US General David Petraeus collapsed in his chair under intense questioning in the Senate on Tuesday. He had just finished answering Senator John McCain's question about the planned 2011 pullout of US troops in Afghanistan. Petraeus, who oversees the war in Iraq and Afghanistan as head of US Central Command, briefly put his head on the table, revived after a few seconds, stood up and left the room unaided. He then returned to the room briefly and told the senators he was feeling a little bit light-headed. Petraues joked that McCain's question wasn't the cause.
