Coast to Coast AM Edward Snowden Update with - Jun 24 2013 - UFOs & Cryptozoology
Edward Snowden Update
First hour guest, author and columnist Jerome Corsi offered commentary on the latest developments in the Edward Snowden case. Snowden currently reported to be in Russia, is trying to evade extradition back to the US. Being harbored in a country where he doesn't even speak the language, such as Russia, China, or Ecuador, he could be pressured to reveal more secrets about the US, if he has them, Corsi remarked, adding that in this case, it's a very fine line between hero and traitor
Paranormal investigator Stan Gordon shared case histories of UFO and cryptozoological phenomena that have taken place in Pennsylvania. Some have called the 1965 Kecksburg incident, "the Roswell of the East," in which an acorn-shaped object crashed into the woods but the public was told it was a meteor and nothing was found. According to Gordon, there was a secret government retrieval process and numerous witnesses to this. There've been rumors of alleged bodies found in the area, and a witness, Myron, who was making a delivery to the Wright-Patterson AFB warehouse where the Kecksburg object was scaffolded, said he saw a small body covered by a white sheet on a work table. All he could see was the left hand hanging down which had three index fingers with lizard-like skin
Syrian Refugees sold as Sex Slaves in Jordan
Camp Zaatari, a tent city in the Jordanian desert, now houses 100,000 refugees. Vulnerable Syrian women fleeing to Zaatari have found trafficking, kidnapping, forced marriages and nowhere else to run.
"The Jordanian guys harass Syrian girls even at the age of 6 and 7." The woman points to a young girl of only 5 or 6 and says, "They'll even harass a young girl like her." The girl smiles a shy, bleak smile. Wealthy Arab men also come here to buy young Syrian brides. The Sheikh who runs the mosque in the camp explains why: "the dowries in the Gulf countries are very high, but to marry a Syrian woman is really cheap". In a bizarre contradiction, sexual violence is prompting families to marry off their daughters as young as possible, in a bid to pre-empt rape and sexual attacks. Matchmakers and brokers are cynically infiltrating the camp by posing as aid workers in search of Syrian brides who fall victim to so-called "pleasure marriages". One 28 year-old housewife from Homs who is effectively "pimping" out young Syrian girls for sex, gives us a price-list for anything from a cup of tea to a "pleasure marriage": "If he wants to get married it's $1400". This startling expose sheds a stark light on the forgotten plight of the women and girls of the Syrian civil war.

There were explosions and other shows of force in the Jordanian desert --- just across the border from Syria. Some are speculating that the U.S. may keep Patriot missiles and F-16 fighter jets in the area beyond the exercises.

"I have about 2,000 Marines here, as well as my three ships and amphibious readiness group. We're going to bring Marine forces back and load them back on my ships, over the course of a few days, as well as the Marine aircraft that I have, will fly back aboard the ships, and we are going to depart."
He went on to add that the exercise was simply a chance for multi-lateral cooperation, although Syria's President Bashar al Assad will likely be unnerved by the increased military might in his backyard --- particularly after the U.S. announced it would begin arming rebels.

Leaked Documents Reveal the Lie Behind U.S. Claims on Drone Strike's Victims in Pakistan
Senior National Security and Intelligence reporter for McClatchy Newspapers discusses his reporting on secret U.S. records that confirmed drone strikes carried out in Pakistan over a four-year period ran contrary to the standards set forth publicly by President Obama. Classified U.S. documents reviewed by Landay show the Obama administration targeted and killed hundreds of supposed lower-level Afghan, Pakistani and unidentified "other" militants, even though they have claimed publicly to only target senior al-Qaeda leaders and associates planning to attack the United States. Records confirm drone operators were not always sure who they were killing.

Apocalyptic Perspectives ~ Jonathan Zap
Researcher and philosopher Jonathan Zap discussed the surge in apocalyptic predictions and how they relate to the 'Singularity Archetype,' the collective unconscious, and the evolution of humanity. We live in a time when people believe the apocalypse is around the corner, whether coming in 2012 with the end of the Mayan calendar (see his article/podcast Carnival 2012), or as predicted in various other prophecies. Yet, in whatever age people have lived in, they've been predisposed to believe "the end is near." The reason for this, he suggested, is that they have anxiety over their own death. But if everyone is going to die together, this is a more satisfying or comforting notion for the ego to consider than just the death of oneself, he explained.
The Singularity Archetype "is a primordial image of human evolutionary metamorphosis which emerges from the collective unconscious. The Singularity Archetype builds on archetypes of death and rebirth and adds information about the evolutionary potential of both species and individual," Zap writes. He pointed to several images (see below) which show different aspects of the Archetype. The film 2001: A Space Odyssey, for instance, depicts a character's travel through an interdimensional corridor or stargate. "He's basically crossing the event horizon," and experiencing the death of his old form, said Zap, who noted the similarity of this to the way near-death experiences have been described.
In order for humanity to evolve, we need shocks to the system that can be highly disruptive, Zap argued. "The message from the Singularity Archetype is that what looks like the worst thing in the world, may be exactly what is necessary to create a quantum evolutionary jump," he said, adding that this is true on an individual level as well, so that when a dire event happens to a person, it may prove to be a great moment of opportunity.
Biography:
Jonathan Zap is a photographer, author, teacher, paranormal researcher and philosopher who has written extensively on psychology and contemporary mythology. Jonathan has worked as a staff gemologist and instructor for the Gemological Institute of America. He has taught English in High School and College and worked with troubled youth as the Dean of a South Bronx High School. As a wilderness guide, Jonathan has led inner city kids and other young people on expeditions to remote desert canyons and to the summit of Mount Rainier.
He is the author of numerous published articles, essays, experimental works of fiction and the Zap Oracle. His most recent work is Crossing the Event Horizon—The Singularity Archetype which should be available late in the summer of 2011. Jonathan has an extensive background in Jungian psychology, paranormal research and dream interpretation. For over thirty years he has been using the tools of Jungian psychology to study popular culture, contemporary mythology, and dreams for evidence that we are getting signals from the collective unconscious about the nature of a quantum evolutionary event approaching the human species.

An apocalypse (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις apocálypsis, from ἀπό and καλύπτω meaning 'un-covering'), translated literally from Greek, is a disclosure of knowledge, hidden from humanity in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception, i.e., a lifting of the veil or revelation, although this sense did not enter English until the 14th century.[1] In religious contexts it is usually a disclosure of something hidden. In the Revelation of John (Greek Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰωάννου, Apocalypsis Ioannou), the last book of the New Testament, the revelation which John receives is that of the ultimate victory of good over evil and the end of the present age, and that is the primary meaning of the term, one that dates to 1175. Today, it is commonly used in reference to any prophetic revelation or so-called End Time scenario, or to the end of the world in general.
BREAKING: Pres. Putin Says Edward Snowden is In Moscow & Wont Be Extradited
(USAToday) MOSCOW — U.S. spy leaker Edward Snowden is in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday. Putin said that Russia would not hand him over to the U.S., with whom it does not have an extradition agreement .
Putin, who was speaking while on a visit to Finland, said that Russian security agencies "didn't work and aren't working" with Snowden. He said the Snowden has not crossed the border into Russia and is free to go anywhere.
Putin expressed hope that the move would not affect U.S.-Russia relations.
Earlier, Russia's foreign minister said that demands to extradite Snowden to the U.S. were "ungrounded and unacceptable."
Sergey Lavrov said that Snowden had not crossed the border into Russia and that his country has had no involvement in the former National Security Agency contractor's travel plans.
"I want to say straight away that we have no connection either to Mr. Snowden or to his relationship with American justice, or to his travels around the world. He chose his route independently, and we found out about it ... through the media. He did not cross the Russian border," Lavrov said in comments carried by RIA Novosti.
"We consider as absolutely unfounded and unacceptable the attempts we are seeing to accuse Russia of violating U.S. law and almost of conspiracy, accompanied by threats against us. There is no lawful basis for this kind of behavior from American officials." he said.
Snowden flew to Russia on Sunday from Hong Kong, but he has not been seen in public after reports indicated he arrived safely in Moscow.
He failed to board a flight bound for Cuba on Monday afternoon, where it is thought he would then seek onward travel to Ecuador, and possible political asylum. The U.S. has revoked Snowden's passport, and on Monday White House spokesman Jay Carney said that it is the administration's assumption "that he is in Russia."
Rimsky Yuen, Hong Kong's justice secretary, meanwhile on Tuesday detailed some of the clarifications that the city had requested of the U.S. regarding its extradition request for Snowden after Carney said there had been "a deliberate choice by the government to release a fugitive." Hong Kong said it did not receive a reply before Snowden's flight.
Yuen said that Hong Kong immigration records, the documents the U.S. Justice Department provided on Snowden's charges and U.S. correspondence showed Snowden's middle name differently — variously James, Joseph and just the initial J — and that the U.S. did not provide his passport number, which might have helped clarify his identity.
Yuen also said that Hong Kong was seeking U.S. clarification as to whether the charges against Snowden were political.
The extradition agreement between the two governments specifically excludes fugitives "if the offense of which that person is accused or was convicted is an offense of a political character," said Barry Sautman, an associate professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Earlier, Sautman told USA TODAY he has "no doubt that a court would construe what Snowden did as political."
"All along we acted fully in accordance with the law and any suggestion that we deliberately let Mr Snowden go away or (did anything else) to obstruct the normal operation is totally untrue," said Yuen.
Edward Snowden: The mystery deepens
Tuesday's remarks from Russia and Hong Kong came after a Chinese state newspaper praised Snowden for his decision to make public government surveillance programs, adding fresh pressure to increasingly strained U.S.-China relations.
In a commentary, the China's People's Daily, the Chinese Communist party's official newspaper, lauded Snowden for "tearing off Washington's sanctimonious mask."
The People's Daily added: "Not only did the U.S. authorities not give us an explanation and apology, it instead expressed dissatisfaction at the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for handling things in accordance with the law." The commentary went on: "In a sense, the U.S. has gone from a model of human rights to an eavesdropper on personal privacy, the manipulator of the centralized power over the international internet, and the mad invader of other countries' networks."
Separately, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying also denounced the U.S. accusations as "groundless." She said, "It is unreasonable for the U.S. to question Hong Kong's handling of affairs in accordance with law, and the accusation against the Chinese central government is groundless."
BREAKING NEWS - Putin Says Whistleblower Snowden In Moscow & Wont Be Extradited
Putin: Snowden still in Moscow airport transit zone, won't be extradited
http://rt.com/news/putin-snowden-mosc...
Russia's President says former NSA contractor Edward Snowden is still in the transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport. Vladimir Putin says that any accusations of Russia related to Snowden are "nonsense and rubbish." Speaking to journalists in Finland, Putin said that there is no extradition treaty between Russia and the US, which makes it impossible to extradite people like Snowden. “We can only extradite any foreign citizens to such countries with which we have signed the appropriate international agreements on criminal extradition,” he explained. Snowden “has not committed any crime” on Russian soil, Putin added. "Snowden is a free person. The sooner he chooses his final destination, the better it is for him and Russia," Putin said.
Violent Revolution Boiling in America
Traveling from tea parties in Texas to "Oath Keeper" rallies in Massachusetts, VICE investigates whether the country is actually on the verge of the 2nd Revolutionary War.
--
The Department of Homeland Security classifies them as potential "domestic terrorists"; they prefer to be called patriots. As the economic crisis deepens, a growing movement of Americans is rejecting the two-party system and the mainstream media. They believe a violent revolution is imminent, and they're getting ready for it now. VICE correspondent Ryan Duffy crosses the country to meet the people on the front lines of the struggle. They include Alex Jones, a radio talk show host in Austin, Texas who is waking people up to the dangers of the corporate globalists — and has seen traffic on his websites increase dramatically in recent months. We also meet Sgt. Charles Dyer, a U.S. Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton who has taken an oath to disobey unconstitutional orders and take up arms against the government if it becomes tyrannical — and is training a citizen militia to do the same.

The Secret of The Jobless Recovery ~ Offshore outsourcing of American Jobs
To convince Americans of outsourcing's benefits, corporate outsources sponsor misleading one-sided "studies."
Only a handful of people have looked objectively at the issue. These few and the large number of Americans whose careers have been destroyed by outsourcing have a different view of outsourcing's impact. But so far there has been no debate, just a shouting down of skeptics as "protectionists."
Despite the enormity of the stakes for all Americans, a state of denial exists among policymakers and the outsourcing's corporate champions about the adverse effects on the US.
