Less than a week after SWAT police went house to house ripping families out of their homes during broad daylight in the manhunt that ensued following the Boston bombings, other police departments have seemingly taken a police state cue and followed suit. Yesterday it was reported that FBI agents and local police SWAT along with the California Highway Patrol conducted a "massive sweep" of Oakland where they barricaded several streets and closed down certain parts of the town for more than an hour. "It appeared to be an extensive operation with many officers involved," KTVU reported, adding, "There were agents carrying out actions in numerous parts of the city Wednesday night." Armored vehicles and helicopters circling overhead assisted the patrols as law enforcement allegedly served warrants for drugs and weapons charges. It's reasonable to assume that the raids partially occurred as a result of SB 140's recent passage, a California bill touted as one that would expedite the confiscation of "illegal" firearms from people with "serious mental illness" and criminal convictions.

According to the reports Israel wants to use the base to launch an attack on Iran. Meanwhile Ankara has denied the allegations. However, the recent rush through the negotiation with the aim to push for the resumption of ties between Israel and Turkey has led Turkish citizens to believe otherwise. The Sunday times report came at a time when US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was on a visit to Tel Aviv for a 10 billion dollar arms deal with Israel. The Multi-billion weapons deal between Tel Aviv and Washington includes the sale of KC-135 aerial refueling tankers, anti-air missiles and the V-22 tilt-rotor military transport planes. While in Israel, Hagel also referred Iran a threat and said that the Obama administration will take all its efforts to make sure Israel has the upper hand militarily in the region. In 1964, the Warren Commission concluded that Oswald acted alone and that no credible evidence supported the contention that he was involved in a conspiracy to assassinate the president.[10] The Commission also indicated that Dean Rusk, the Secretary of State; Robert S. Canada accused of exploiting terror-related incidents
Concocting terrorism-related incidents to justify unpopular political policies is a well known tactic of Western governments. And this week Canadians appear to have fallen victim, yet again, to that tactic. Even opposition members of parliament have suggested that the recent explosions in Boston and a so called "foiled terror plot" in Canada are being exploited by the Harper government to ram yet more unconstitutional anti-terrorism legislation through parliament.
