What has been taking place in industries such as insurance, automotive, banking, and health care are all examples of the "command economy," he detailed.
While credit card companies are slashing people's credit and forcing them to save, banks aren't offering any incentive for savers with their low return rates, he reported. August 9, 2013 - On his radio show Friday, Rush Limbaugh weighed in on Oprah Winfrey's recent brush with discrimination, wondering if maybe the clerk who turned away one of the richest women in the world was not being "racist" but instead just thought the media mogul was too "fat" to be shopping in her store. Much as President Obama recently revealed how he has experienced racism in the form of women "clutching their purses" when he stepped into an elevator, Winfrey this week told Entertainment Tonight a story about how she believes she was discriminated against in a Switzerland shop. She said a clerk refused to show her a handbag because, suggesting Winfrey would "not be able to afford" the $38,000 price tag. "I said, 'OK, thank you so much, you're probably right, I can't afford it' and walked out of the store. Now why did she do that?" Winfrey wondered.
After retelling the story to his radio listeners, Limbaugh said she's looking at it all wrong. "If I were Oprah, I'd be so happy I could go someplace and not be recognized," he said, adding, "we've all been insulted by retail people." Limbaugh found it hard to believe that race played any factor in the incident, saying, "Maybe it's because The Oprah's fat!"
"Maybe the judgement that The Oprah couldn't afford a $38,000 bag had nothing to do with her race, because aren't the Swiss enlightened in that regard?" Limbaugh asked. "There isn't any racism in Europe, right?"

President Obama held a news press conference Friday afternoon on a number of topics including the national surveillance program, terror threats and Russia.
Obama says he'll work with Congress to change the oversight of some of the National Security Agency's controversial surveillance programs and name a new panel of outside experts to review technologies.
Specifically, Obama says he wants to work with Congress to insert an opposing voice into arguments before the secret court that approves massive government surveillance efforts. The court currently hears only from Justice Department officials who want the surveillance approved.
The secret court and other surveillance programs have been under scrutiny since NSA leaker Edward Snowden revealed classified programs in June. The government has defended these programs as necessary to prevent terror attacks.
Speaking to reporters, Obama says the government can and must be more transparent in how it conducts surveillance.
"It's not enough for me as President to have confidence in these programs. The American people need to have confidence in them as well."
Obama says he's encouraging Russian President Vladimir Putin to, quote, "think forward instead of backwards" in strained relations with the United States.
Obama says he realizes relations between the two super powers have been difficult lately. He says progress was being made until Putin regained the Russian presidency. Now Obama says there have been "a number of emerging differences," including over Syria and human rights.
The White House this week cancelled a planned summit between Obama and Putin next month in Moscow. That's in part because Russia is refusing to return National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden to the U.S. to face charges of leaking national security secrets.
Obama says Snowden is not a patriot for revealing widespread government surveillance programs.
Obama says he called for a review of the secret surveillance programs before details of documents Snowden leaked to reporters were publicized in June. He says Snowden's disclosures prompted a faster and more passionate response than if Obama had just appointed a board to review the policies.
Obama says he wants more oversight of the intelligence community's surveillance programs to strike a balance between protecting Americans safety and their privacy.
President Obama says the main al-Qaida terrorist group is "on its heels" and "decimated," but its regional groups are powerful enough to attack U.S. interests.
Obama says the core of al-Qaida is less able to carry out a terrorist attack on the scale of 9/11. But he says offshoots like the one in Yemen have the capacity to go after U.S. embassies and businesses around the world.
It was the threat of such an attack that prompted the U.S. government to close 19 diplomatic posts in the Middle East and North Africa last week.
U.S. intelligence officials had intercepted a message between a top al-Qaida official and his deputy in Yemen about plans for a major terror attack targeting American or other Western sites abroad.
Obama is vowing to bring to justice those responsible for last year's deadly assault on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya.
Obama says his administration is intent on capturing those who carried out the attack, noting that it took him longer than 11 months to make good on his promise to find Osama bin Laden.
Obama also says his government has a sealed indictment on some suspected of involvement.
Officials said earlier this week the Justice Department filed the first criminal charges as part of its investigation of the September attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
Republicans have criticized the administration's response to the attack and its shifting explanation of what happened.

Obama says his administration is intent on capturing those who carried out the attack, noting that it took him longer than 11 months to make good on his promise to find Osama bin Laden.
Obama also says his government has a sealed indictment on some suspected of involvement.
Officials said earlier this week the Justice Department filed the first criminal charges as part of its investigation of the September attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
Republicans have criticized the administration's response to the attack and its shifting explanation of what happened.

President Obama says he has a range of outstanding candidates to lead the Federal Reserve and calls Lawrence Summers and Janet Yellen highly qualified to become the next Fed chairman.
Obama says he decided to push back against people who are urging him not to pick Summers because he saw his former economic adviser, in his words, "getting slapped around the press for no reason."
Summers served as the head of the National Economic Council during Obama's first term. Yellen is the vice chair of the Fed.
Obama says he will decide in the fall whom to nominate to succeed the Fed's outgoing chairman, Ben Bernanke.

Is Money Destroying Us, Or Is It Us The People Who Use It, Or Both? – By Jason Liosatos
‘When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money’.It is very hard to argue against the fact that money is destroying us individually, both physically, mentally, spiritually, and as a collective as humanity, and it is also killing the planet. Though most people in the higher echelons of income, business and finance may not agree, because generally the more money people make the less concerned they are about those who have less, and this pyramid of wealth is very interesting.
We could argue that it is not the money, or the form of currency that is the problem, but rather the ethical compromises of the people using it, which is true in one sense, but unfortunately the currency exacerbates that moral weakness in people, so of course the problem lies in both the people and the currency used. If we could become ethically and morally pristine in our thoughts and actions, then of course we could use any currency responsibly. But that is not to say that the currency, and the system that is built upon it, would not still keep people in a prison of debt and a lifetime of work.
Whichever way we look at it we are witnessing the most unbelievable collapse of humanity and ecology mainly due to money, and it is incredible how much people will compromise ethically for money. Many people would kill someone for $100 or even $1, and some people would destroy a whole community, city or country for $1 million, and some people would happily destroy humanity if it meant them being able to live a rich and opulent life, and have not a care for those people to come in their footsteps.
If we were to try and describe our system to a higher race of beings on another planet living in peace and harmony without money, then they would be shocked and horrified at what is happening on this planet, and how most people are suffering at the hands of the controlling financial clique who are literally holding humanity hostage via a virtual hangman’s noose of fear, debt and control. The asylum system we are living within will only loosen its psychotic grip on us when we find the courage to see it as such, because as Gurdjieff so rightly said “If you want to escape from prison you must first recognize you are in it, or no escape is possible”. Our denial is what perpetuates and exacerbates the problem.
Thanks goodness, at last, the noose of debt and fear has tightened so much around humanities neck that it is ironically, forcing us to struggle free from it, that struggle and escape is becoming a necessity if we are to survive. POLICE STATE USA - SWAT TEAM Confine Reporter To His Home & Treat Him Like a DOG. YOU ARE THE ENEMY
Infowars reporter Jakari Jackson, along with a few of his neighbors, received a rude awakening today when an aggressive SWAT team showed up to perform an early morning ambush.
Jackson was startled out of his slumber around 5:30am when he heard someone banging on a door loudly. He immediately armed himself and walked to the front door of his Southeast Austin apartment to see what was the matter.
He soon heard a loudspeaker boom that the Austin Police was there to serve a warrant, and could see what looked like an Austin SWAT van parked outside.
He could also hear loud bangs which he believes were likely flash bang grenades.
Ever the intrepid journalist, Jackson grabbed a camera and attempted to film the raid, which happened to target one of his close neighbors.
When Jackson opened his door and began filming the storm troopers, who were outfitted in green ensembles more befitting of U.S. military than police officers, he was met by ferocious barking demanding he get back inside his house.
As evidenced in his footage, Jackson was already standing well within his doorway, which he declared, stating, "I am inside! This is my door; I'm standing right inside my apartment!"
One of the enraged SWAT members next angrily grabbed Jackson's door knob and slammed his door shut.
Upon inspection of the raided apartment's exterior, battering ram marks could be seen as well as a missing door knob which Jackson suspects police used to insert the flash bangs.
Jackson is unsure what spurred the raid, but believed it was already over by the time he grabbed his camera to film. He also says he had noticed a heightened police presence in his complex in the days preceding the ambush.
Given that the Austin Police Department recently announced it would be coordinating joint "homeland security" drills throughout the city with help from the FBI, the Travis County Sheriff's Office, and police from the University of Texas, Austin residents can expect to experience more of this police state conditioning in the days to come.
According to KVUE News, the Texas Department of Public Safety is instructing citizens that, during this time, "if you see anything suspicious, you should still call police."
